A newly revised Generator Protection Application Guide is now available for download free of charge from the Basler Electric web site.
Highland, IL (I-Newswire) March 21, 2013 - A newly revised Generator Protection Application Guide is now available for download free of charge from the Basler Electric web site - http://www.basler.com.
Basler Electric developed this guide to simplify the process of selecting relays and relay systems to protect generators. Starting with minimum protection as a baseline, additional protection is added for critical and complex applications. Each protective element is described and related to protecting against a variety of external or internal faults or abnormal conditions. The principles apply to individual relays and multifunction digital packages. A typical diesel genset settings configuration example is included using Basler’s BE1-11g Generator Protection System.
Basler Electric was founded in 1942 and its first Solid State Relay was designed in the early 1970s. Over the past 40+ years, Basler’s innovation, technological advancements and expertise have successfully led the product line through the development of single function microprocessor-based relays into today’s Digital Multifunction Protection Systems.
The company serves the electric power industry with solid state relays for distribution, transmission, bus, transformer, generator and motor protection. Designed to operate in harsh electrical environments, meeting or exceeding ANSI/IEEE and IEC standards, Basler’s utility grade and industrial grade relays offer high accuracy, low burden, flexibility and low maintenance. The company’s microprocessor-based relays combine multifunction protection with control, metering, data acquisition and network communications. Basler’s retrofit relays provide a direct “plug and play” replacement for many obsolete electromechanical designs.
Basler offers more than 50 different types of relay products to satisfy almost any protection requirement.
