Remember Point Publishes World War Two, Nazi Occupation Digital Book

Author Stefania Heilbrunn, along with renowned painter Kalman Aron and Ester Wilhelm Tepper, who instigated the electronic publication of this riveting non-fiction account, each played a role in getting this powerful book published by Remember Point. Based on years of research, interviews and her own harrowing experiences, author Stefania Heilbrunn of South Africa, gives a vivid account of how the Nazis occupied her hometown in Europe and ruthlessly, systematically captured, tormented and killed almost all 14,000 Jews, living in her town with a total population of 30,000.

Starting with Hitler's orders and the Nazi Occupation, the author details the travesties beginning with the over-crowding of the ghetto, the countless beatings and ruthless killings. She describes the heroic acts of those who fought back to survive, as the Nazis ordered mass deportations to the concentration camps, work camps and death camps, slaughtering thousands upon thousands. Heilbrunn describes the day to day banalities of evil, as well as the courageous acts of bravery and miracles that enabled survival to just a few hundred Jews of her town.

At the end of the war, when the author, as a young teen was searching the ruins of her town for other survivors, thrust upon her was a partial diary of a young girl, written by a teenager named Miriam, who died during the war. This young girl's diary propelled the author to research and tell this riveting collective memoir, which is both incredibly personal and yet tremendous in scope. The author wants the world to never forget.

Fellow survivor, and from the same town of Radomsko, Poland, Ester Wilhelm Tepper, now residing in Los Angeles, instigated the electronic publication of this book. The book contains dozens of photographs, including several photos that Tepper recently provided, which her father, Zelig Wilhelm, an accomplished European portrait photographer, took during the Nazi Occupation. One particular photo is a photo that the Nazis commanded Wilhelm to take and was intended to document the systematic Nazi killings of Jews. This is the first publication of this photo, a grueling image of a German soldier standing in front of several hanging dead Jewish men and it is included in this book to provide historic evidence of the Holocaust.

The third Holocaust survivor involved in the publication of this book is renowned painter, Kalman Aron, born in Latvia and now residing in Los Angeles. Kalman Aron provided the original artwork for the cover of this book, a reproduction of his painting entitled "Mother and Child," permanently on display in the lobby of the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust.
