Recall Issued for Britax Baby Strollers

Discovery of partial fingertip amputation hazard results in recall of over 200,000 units

Washington, DC (I-Newswire) February 3, 2014 - A recall has been issued on 216,000 Britax B-Agile, B-Agile Double and BOB Motion baby strollers. According to official documents, the hinge on the folding mechanism of the stroller puts consumers at risk of partial fingertip amputation, broken fingers or serious lacerations. The threat exists when the user presses the stroller's release button while at the same time pulling on its release strap.

The strollers were sold as single and double models and were available in a number of colors. Those colors included black, kiwi, red, orange, navy and sandstone. The affected units were manufactured between March of 2011 and June of 2013. The following model numbers are affected:
B-Agile Strollers - U341763, U341764, U341782 & U341783
B-Agile Double Strollers - U361818 & U361819
BOB Motion Strollers - U391820, U391821 & U391822

The model numbers and dates of manufacture can be found on a label adhered to the inside of the frame in the vicinity of the right rear wheel.

No reports of injury have surfaced as of yet.

Consumers should cease th use of these strollers immediately and contact Britax at 866-204-1665. A safety notice has been added to the company websites britaxusa.com and bobgear.com where consumers can find more information and seek an appropriate remedy that includes a free repair kit.
