Reality Tours And Travel Launches First Multi-day Experience To Rajasthan

Our company is a social business. 80% of all profits is used for the activities of our sister organisation and NGO (charity) Reality Gives.

The socially responsible tour operator Reality Tours and Travel launches its first multi-day tour to Rajasthan in December 2013. "Rajasthan Unlimited" is a 13-day trip from Mumbai to Delhi through Rajasthan, discovering the "land of kings" by plane, train, car, rickshaw and even camel.

During the trip, Reality Tours sticks to their motto "see the real India" and provides adventures and experiences that travelers couldn't unravel on their own. This includes for example dinner with a local family in Udaipur and with residents in the desert of Jodhpur, a visit to a traditional Bishnoi village, and exploring the less touristy and opulent side of Agra in a rickshaw driver's community. Krishna Pujari, co-founder of Reality Tours and Travel whom Frommer's travel guidebook describes as "utterly charming and filled with insights", will guide the group of maximum twelve people.

Following the company's unique model of using tourism to give back to the communities, Reality Tours will share 80 percent of the tour profits with its sister NGO, Reality Gives, which runs and supports various social projects in Dharavi, one of Asia's largest slums in the heart of Mumbai. To give back to the communities in Rajasthan that help Reality Tours set up the new tour, in the future the company will run and support local social development projects in the area to address local issues and needs.

Reality Tours and Travel was encouraged to expand their unique social business model after receiving the highest honor at the Virgin Airlines Responsible Tourism awards as the overall winner in November 2012 at the World Travel Market in London. "Rajasthan is just the start as we plan to offer multi-day tours to many more regions of India. Besides providing an unforgettable tour experience by showing places tourists usually won't find in their travel guidebooks, our aim is to also serve the local communities we visit by providing the resources they require," said Chris Way, founder of Reality Tours and Travel. "We hope to motivate other tour operators to act responsibly too and spread sustainable tourism initiatives all over the world."

The 13-day "Rajasthan Unlimited" trip from Mumbai to Delhi through Rajasthan is priced at 54,000 INR (approximately 600 GBP, 700 EUR, 900 USD) and will take place from December 22, 2013 to January 3, 2014. Costs include accommodation in locally owned midrange hotels, transportation from Mumbai to Delhi, five dinners and two lunches, as well as a range of activities and entrance fees along the way. The trip will be a balanced mix of professionally guided activities and free time to explore independently.
