Raisepage.com: a New Way to Raise Money for Charity

California (I-Newswire) April 15, 2011 - Raising money for charity can be as simple as changing the home page on your computer, as long as the home page is www.Raisepage.com.

“It’s a brand new concept,” said Michael Cribari, the new website’s Director. “If someone makes Raisepage.com their home page, every time they open their browser, they’re making money for charity.”

Cribari explained that Raisepage.com has committed to contributing 60% of all its advertising revenue to the charities its users vote on and select. A bar at the top of the webpage gives users the opportunity to select the charity of their choice. After they do that, every time they visit Raisepage.com the advertising money going to charity will be logged to their choice. The website will not take direct donations.

Distributions of advertising revenue to the selected charities will be on a quarterly basis, with the first distribution at the end of June 2011. After the funds are distributed, the website will provide detailed information about the amounts given to each charity. “We want to be an open book so that our users will know exactly where their money has gone,” Cribari said.

Cribari hopes that users will make Raisepage.com their home page. The page is customizable so that users can easily add links to their favorite sites. It also contains a search bar powered by Google. “They can create a page that’s a portal for the sites they’re using every day,” Cribari said.

Raisepage.com was originally launched last November and received more than 164,000 hits the first two weeks. Cribari and his partners were elated about this initial response, but felt that the website’s design needed tweaking. They took the site down, redesigned it, and re-launched it on March 25, 2011.

“We’re hoping to establish a new marketplace,” Cribari said, “a socially conscious marketplace, committed to improving every aspect of the world we live in.”
