Quartix Is Named Sustainability Leaders Awards Finalist

Council dramatically reduces fuel consumption with vehicle tracking software. Prompting sustainablilty judges to add Quartix to the list of finalists.

Outperforming stiff competition, vehicle-tracking supplier Quartix has become a finalist in the 2012 Sustainability Leaders Awards. Amongst other achievements, the work it has undertaken with Worcester City Council particularly impressed the judges. Quartix's vehicle tracking system has helped the council dramatically reduce their fuel consumption and improve productivity for their fleet of refuse trucks, road sweepers and parks vehicles. Thanks to the system's market-leading Driving-Style Monitoring suite, Worcester City Council is able to monitor harsh acceleration, braking and speeding on daily and weekly bases and work with their drivers to improve their performance on the road. The comprehensive reporting and live tracking also help the council make savings across the board and cut costly and environmentally damaging practices such as idling.

The other finalists in the Sustainable Transport category are LOCOG, Network Rail, Howard Tenens and Alstom, with the winner being announced on 5th December at The Grange St Paul's in London. Organised by Edie.net and Sustainable Business, these RSA accredited awards reward companies demonstrating leadership and innovation in sustainability in both the private and public sectors.

Andy Kirk, Quartix Sales & Marketing Director, adds: "Quartix is delighted to have been shortlisted for these prestigious awards. We are committed to helping businesses become more sustainable by reducing their fuel usage hence emissions and improving the utilisation of their fleets. Our systems are an affordable way for companies to monitor all vehicle activities, as well as make substantial financial savings. We also work hard internally to ensure Quartix is an example itself in terms of sustainability."
