QMS Helping Businesses Adopt ISO 50001

UK-based organisation QMS International plc have launched a new service to help businesses around the world to adopt the ISO's latest standard for energy management.

UK-based organisation QMS International plc have launched a new service to help businesses around the world to adopt the ISO's latest standard for energy management.

Back in June 2011, the International Organisation for Standardisation announced the new standard which would be available for businesses worldwide. The existing standard for energy management in the UK is BS EN 16001 which is not recognised globally.

"The new standard provides a far better framework for energy management. Because it has been published by the ISO, it also means that companies that already have achieved other ISO standards will be able to easily integrate the standard into their management processes," says QMS's Managing Director Peter Gamble.

While the BS EN 16001 standard will still be available for the time being, the ISO 50001 will be the Standard of choice.

Mr Gamble said, "The new standard for energy management systems brings with it a range of benefits for businesses of all sizes. We want to help all of our existing clients to make a smooth transition over to ISO 50001:2011 so that they can begin to take advantage of the benefits it brings them."

QMS's new service is a cost-effective solution for easing businesses through the transition from BS EN 16001 to ISO 50001. It is not only QMS's existing clients that can take advantage of this offer but anyone who has the old standard.

QMS International have to date provided over 19000 business certifications worldwide in over 60 countries. To find out more about QMS and the transition from BS EN 16001 to ISO 50001 you can contact QMS's team at 01603 630345 or visit their website at www.qmsuk.com.
