Neil Raden is the Founder and President of Hired Brains, Inc., a California-based consulting firm specializing in analytics, BI, and decision management. He has 25 years experience as an actuary, software engineer, industry analyst, and systems integrator in a wide range of industries, from healthcare to nuclear waste management. Mr. Raden has authored dozens of white papers and, with co-author James Taylor, the book “Smart (Enough) Systems: How to Deliver Competitive Advantage by Automating Hidden Decisions.”
Mr. Raden’s talk, “BI of the Future” will focus on developments in BI driven by changes in consumer expectations, economic drivers, technological advances, and analytical maturity. Increasingly, loose assortments of star schemas, KPIs and dashboards are being replaced by progressively more integrated and complex systems, incorporating concepts from other business processes and sophisticated data management principles.

His talk, “Social Analytics – Hype and Reality,” will focus on the impact of social media on business, including the wide variety of tools and applications that allow companies to be in constant contact with customers. The field of Social Analytics allows managers to bring quantitative tools to this new environment, and gives them the ability to measure the impact of “being social” on revenues and profitability.
