Puri Is All Set To Get Its Model Beach

With the preparations going on in full swing, tourists will have a new and innovative beach to hang around and enjoy. The beach will be the one of the major tourist attractions in times to come.

Delhi (I-Newswire) October 16, 2012 - The holy town of Puri is preparing itself to get all new and fabulous beach, which is expected to become the world focus and expected to earn huge revenue. Puri, which is situated on the Bay of Bengal, is holy city and the seat of Lord Jagannath. The revered Hindu city is a popular site for the Char Dham pilgrimages.

In the recent times, Puri has emerged as the popular beach resorts for the reason that it gives spectacular view of sunrise and sun set to the nature lovers. The city of Puri is geographically situated in the position where one can easily take the glimpse of sun rise and sun set easily.

Amidst popular sea beaches in Puri, community run model sea beach has come up. The beach is not fabulous and appealing to imagination, but it has pristine outlook and dimension. The beach was thrown open to public by state tourism and culture minister Maheswar Mohanty.

The 400-metre expanse of the beach running between Bankimuhan and Panthaniwas has been urbanized by voluntary organization, by the name of Barefoot. On this occasion, the tourism and culture minister Maheswar Mohanty said, “It is for the first time a beach will be maintained by any private community in Puri. We will come forward and help the community based organization in keeping the beach clean and beautiful."

The model beach vaunts of palm leaf shades and comfortable beach chairs for the very comfort of the tourists, who are expected to douse the place in large numbers. In the near future, Barefoot is also planning to introduce some real time and effective beach recreation and sports activities. Plans are being put into actual practice to install temporary cubicles where the tourists can change their clothes after enjoying sea water sports.

The state government is planning to separate the 7-km stretch of beach into numerous zones and involve local communities to maintain the stretches. Each chosen zone of the beach will be recognized by a specific name and have a swarm of features for tourists.

"Lifeguard service will be amongst the crucial services which we will provide on our beach. The lifeguards have been given rigorous training and provided with modern equipment to prevent drowning mishaps within the designated beach areas," Barefoot founder YugabratKar said. Further lauding the model beach for its exquisite importance Kar opined, “We pledge the privacy, safety, security and comfort of tourists in the designated area from morning until evening. Beach vendors will strictly be on vigil so that they do not induce the tourists."

The efforts are also being undertaken to beautify the surrounding areas of beach. In this way a stalwart attraction will be created and attract great tourism activities in future. The state tourism department is also actively participating in maintaining model beach.
