Los Angeles, CA (I-Newswire) December 10, 2010 - Brand donates 100 percent of proceeds to MMA and at-risk youth.

Pure Fight Gear, the first nonprofit apparel brand aimed at serving the sport of mixed martial arts, announces its debut. The company, which offers T-shirts for men and women online at www.purefightgear.org, donates 100 percent of its proceeds to benefit MMA fighters and sponsor at-risk youth.

Founded by Jonathan Schwartz and Devin Hajek, the brand strives to give back to MMA, while highlighting its positive qualities. “We saw an opportunity to come in and do more than create a brand; we can help the sport,” said Pure Fight Gear Chief Operating Officer Devin Hajek.

Creating a clothing line that promotes the sport and appeals to fans and fighters alike is just the beginning. Hajek, a lifelong MMA fan with a background in apparel and accessories, designs the T-shirts with the athletes in mind. “The fighters are fed up with being associated with rhinestone T-shirts and ‘graphics gone wild’ t’s, so we wanted to keep things simple,” Hajek said. “We loved this typeface that gave a retro feel but still looked modern. From there everything else just fell into place.”

The brand has already garnered several fighter fans, including Black House’s Jose Aldo, Pedro Rizzo and Marlon Sandro. Pure Fight Gear hopes to receive additional support and endorsements from some of the sport’s influential organizations and top MMA fighters.

The first of its kind, Pure Fight Gear directly supports the world’s fastest growing sport by donating 100 percent of its net proceeds to two main causes: alleviating fighters’ medical costs and providing at-risk youth the opportunity to practice mixed martial arts. The brand is already working with programs in California and Tennessee to develop and implement local fitness camps for kids.

“We’re reaching out to a number of programs that target at-risk youth to assimilate them in MMA; to get them off the streets and to instill some of the discipline that the sport encompasses,” said Chief Executive Office Jonathan Schwartz.

Currently, Pure Fight Gear offers ten styles for men and four for women. All T-shirts are made from 100 percent PURE ring spun cotton and can be purchased at www.purefightgear.org for $21.95-$29.95. The brand will continually add new styles, and plans to feature training gear including gloves, rash guards and shorts, early next year.
