Prominent local church sanctuary be empty on Easter Sunday
Independence, MO East Side Baptist Church, Independence MO, announces that they will lock the doors and their sanctuary will be empty on Easter Sunday. In a risky and highly unusual move "Easter with East Side at the Independence Events Center" will be offered to the public.

The Easter celebration event will be held on Easter Sunday morning April 24, 2011. The celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ will begin at 10:00 AM. “For several years we have had two or three services and we wanted to create an opportunity for our church family and our community to worship together on this special day. This time of praise, worship and celebration is open to the public.”, said Pastor Fred Young.

This is an opportunity for individuals and families who may not have a regular church to attend to celebrate and hear a good news message. In addition to our regularly attending membership, all who come will be welcome.

The Independence Events Center is conveniently located near the intersection of I-70 and I-470 at 19100 East Valley View Parkway in Independence MO. The seating capacity of the arena is approximately 5000.

"Easter with East Side at the Independence Events Center" is offered in place of the traditional Easter Sunday church services. Everyone who chooses to attend will be welcome.

East Side Baptist Church is one of the fastest growing congregations in the eastern Jackson County MO area.
