Pretium Ventures Announces Increased Interest In Gold Mining And Gold Production Investments

Following the Chinese New Year Festival, Pretium Ventures will be increasing their financial and logistical support in undisclosed Chinese mining ventures.

Hong Kong (I-Newswire) February 3, 2011 - Hong Kong Based Pretium Ventures announced to a select group of investors Wednesday that following the Chinese New Year Festival they will be actively increasing their support in gold mining and gold production related investments.

“Gold has done very well and we expect it to continue to thrive in the coming years. Our analysts believe that $1200 to $1500 per ounce is a likely trading range for the foreseeable future, and at those prices mining and production becomes very lucrative.” Jonathan C. Chandler, a Senior Vice President with Pretium Ventures Hong Kong office.

Pretium has identified a number of midsized mining operations and intends to invest an undisclosed sum into these businesses over the next 6-12 months. “Though we are not in a position to disclose publically who we are dealing with or the nature of our deals, we can say that we are focused on the Chinese gold production market.” – Chandler

Given the current costs associated with extraction of the precious metal, mining remains lucrative so long as gold prices stay above $500-$600 per ounce. It is the opinion of Pretium Ventures analysts that these low end targets are far enough outside the potential trading range of the commodity that investment in mining and production is a relatively safe and sound investment at the present moment.
