Multi-Talented Musical Artist Nona Brown and Renowned Producer Rupam Sarmah Collaborate on New Gospel Song

New Single will Debut on August 1, 2014 Talk to God will be available from most digital download sites and from http://nonabrown.org/

For the first time, Nona Brown, a multi-talented musical artist, worked with Rupam Sarmah, an internationally-awarded music producer, to send a universal message to the world—Talk to God. This fascinating collaboration brings a unique blend of Christian/Gospel with religious forms of “Borgeet,” also known as holy songs, from 500 years ago used to begin prayer services in monasteries.

Brown, who is from the San Francisco Bay Area, has worked in the gospel music industry for over thirty years. At a young age, Brown felt that God awakened her musical gifts in her church playing piano by ear at the tender age of twelve years old.

In the 1980s, Brown started her own gospel group known as “Living Example.” This noteworthy band made several performances including on BET Network’s “Bobby Jones Gospel Show.” She is also an accomplished music composer. Brown’s talents gained national exposure when Grammy Award winner and Gospel legend, Edwin Hawkins, recorded her song, “I Know God Can Do Everything.” Other vocal credits include working with hit musical artists Josh Groban, The Fray and others.

It was in 1997 that Brown branched off to pursue a solo career. She produced her own debut CD entitled, “I’ll Sing My Song” and worked with various music legends including BeBe Winans, Patti Labelle and Richard Smallwood. Included in her list of accomplishments, Brown recorded three songs with the Gospel Music Workshop of America and is currently a member of the New Edwin Hawkins Singers.

Earlier this year, Brown was elected Vice President of the San Francisco Chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS) serving a one year term, which began last month.
