Funzi Announces User Engagement Double Industry Average

Following launching in November 2014, Funzi announces the first results of user engagement with their revolutionary mobile learning service. Exceeding industry averages, Funzi is pushing forward mobile learning.

Today, Funzi is excited to announce the first empirical results of user engagement, specifically with their first course, Entrepreneurship 101. Of the first 1000 users, 43% remained subscribed for the entire course and 8.9% of users completed the whole. Research by Katy Jordan (2014)1 on completion rate of MOOCs found that the average completion rate was 45%, Funzi’s results show double industry average user engagement for course completion.

The first service was launched with limited marketing but working closely with partners in developing world communities, including RLabs in South Africa and Kinu and Habari Vyuoni in Tanzania. Funzi’s users remain committed and engaged, responding well to the user centered approach of delivering useful information, with revolutionary easeofuse, to their most trusted device, the mobile..

We are extremely happy with the initial results of user engagement. These results validate our pedagogical approach and are an excellent foundation for the expansion in our services. We are confident that users will continue to respond positively and that engagement with our services will positively change their lives.
