Florida Man Arrested For Stealing Toilet Parts From Fast Food Restaurants

Brian Rinda, 28, is a homeless man in St. Petersburg, Florida. In an attempt to make a little cash, he went on a spree of breaking apart toilets to cash in the brass for money.

Florida man Brian Rinda was recently arrested for breaking apart and stealing toilet parts from fast food restaurants. He was caught on camera at a fast food restaurant in St. Petersburg.

He was seen wandering in and out of the establishment carrying toilet pieces. He is facing charges on eight counts of theft and one count of petit theft.

The man claimed that he stole the flushing handles and pipes to cash them in at the county recycling center located at 5601 Haines Road. Each brass part is estimated to be worth around $40. The man is now facing tens of thousands of dollars in fines in his failed attempt to make a couple hundred dollars.

The 28-year-old homeless man was seen in Cracker Barrel, Burger King, Bob Evans, Subway and various other fast food restaurants in town.

He is currently being held in the county jail on $20,000 bail. It is unknown whether he is receiving the legal assistance of an attorney or not.

Police found that Rinda was only going after the brass toilet fixtures. Brass is a type of yellow metal that is found in most plumbing pipes, door knobs and other types of hardware. Unlike a lot of other types of metals, brass has some value when traded in.

These fast food restaurants are now left with the inability to flush the toilets. They are all currently in the process to fix the issue.
