California-based Company Set to Release Hydroponic Cloud Technology

Garden God Systems is preparing for the release of its new cloud-based garden management system in May. The California tech company's product wirelessly monitors and controls indoor gardens and greenhouses of any size using a secure cloud connection.

A network of devices tracks, logs, and controls everything from hydroponic and aquaponic systems to soil and air quality, and the gardener interacts with their garden through a user interface which provides current conditions and reports, giving them the ability to tweak the operation to maximize results.

The software also provides automation, scheduling, and garden templates for easy setup and use. “This results in less downtime, less maintenance, and improved yields for everyone from the newest gardener to the veteran farmer,” says founder Mike Brawner.

He also emphasizes the importance of managing resource consumption. “By gaining this type of insight into the garden or greenhouse, the gardener can minimize both their costs and their carbon footprint.”

“The integration of technology is rapidly changing the face of agriculture, allowing even the smallest home gardeners to utilize tools once reserved only for the largest producers. This is the next big step.”

The IoT market is already a multi-trillion dollar industry and is expected to grow over $5 trillion by 2020. “It only makes sense that gardeners and farmers should benefit from that,” Brawner says. “And with the increasing popularity of hydroponics for sustainable and economical food production, this technology fills a growing need throughout the coming years.”
