Brightlane Entrepreneur Awards Provide 16 Entrepreneurs A Cowork Environment That Will Help Them Build Their Business

BrightLane Entrepreneur Awards (BEAs) - The first BEA event day was a great success. Now aspiring entrepreneurs will be able to follow the participants' stories in an upcoming webisode series

On December 6th, BrightLane hosted the first ever BrightLane Entrepreneur Awards (BEAs). The event was a great success! The BEAs challenged entrepreneurs to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges, consisting of entrepreneurial leaders from a variety of industries. Prizes awarded for winners of the BEAs were a 6-month Membership at BrightLane on 545 King St. West, as well as a chance to win the $15,000 BrightLane Entrepreneur Award and be introduced to potential investors. While at BrightLane, the winners will have opportunities to network with investors and learn from successful entrepreneurs who will be speaking at BrightLane regularly.

“We couldn’t be happier with the turnout, not only in terms of the interest in the BEAs, but in the quality of entrepreneurs who competed. I extend my thanks to them all,” said George Horhota, President of BrightLane. Those that didn’t qualify for the next round were awarded a 1-week hoteling pass, to experience BrightLane and potentially advance their business ideas and network with existing BrightLane Members.

During the BEAs contestants were interviewed and pitches were filmed, so that the BEAs could be made into webisodes to be released over the next few months. The webisodes will tell the story of the challenges entrepreneurs must overcome to pursue their business initiatives and become successful.

“These webisodes will be a source of real infotainment for budding entrepreneurs. I encourage everyone to follow us on social media and YouTube in the week and months ahead and visit our website to receive updates on the release of the BEA webisodes,” Horhota added.

When asked about the future of the BEAs and competitions at BrightLane, Horhota said “With the success we had with this initial round, I have no doubt the BEAs, or something like them, will become an annual event for BrightLane.”

Over the next 6-months, BrightLane will be home to the ‘Stage 1’ winners of the BEAs, where they will foster their business initiatives, network with existing Members and investors, compete for another 6-month Membership and showcase their journey and successes for the chance at the $15,000 BrightLane Entrepreneur Award.
