BABA Hosts Event in D.C., Carmie McCook Invited Robert Hilton to Speak About Clean Energy & Sustainability

The British American Business Association is hosting an event about Energy and Sustainability, with Robert Hilton as a guest speaker. on November 12, 2014. Learn more about Hilton and his knowledge of clean energy.

(Washington, D.C.)  The British American Business Association (BABA) will host an event, “Energy, Environment and the Power Industry – What’s a Company to Do?” featuring a talk by Robert Hilton, Vice President of Power Technologies for Government Affairs, ALSTOM Power Inc.   The BABA luncheon begins at 12 noon on November 12th, 2014, at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP, 700 Sixth Street, NW, Suite 700 in Washington D.C.  Hilton’s presentation occurs at 12:30 p.m.  The event is complimentary for BABA members and costs $20 for non-members.  

Robert Hilton will speak about balancing energy needs, sustainability and corporate bottom lines. Carmie McCook is on the Energy and Environmental Committee for BABA, and she invited Robert Hilton to speak at the BABA luncheon. McCook says, “With my history of working with professionals in the energy and environmental fields, I knew Bob would be an outstanding speaker for BABA’s Energy and Environmental Committee’s educational lunch series.  His wealth of knowledge on green energy solutions will show companies how to trim budgets while expanding into clean energy solutions and sources.” Carmie McCook is a respected media and communications coach who has worked with the energy and sustainability industry for over five years.  

Hilton and McCook share a history of working on changing perspectives about clean energy solutions.  In 2009, Carmie McCook was contracted to provide media training for Alstom Power’s U.S. Country President and executive team in Hartford, Connecticut.  After working with Hilton, he asked her to provide media training to fifteen of his senior engineers in Knoxville, Tennessee for interviews on Alstom’s innovative approach to clean energy solutions. McCook created message development and media interview training for more than 30 of Alstom Power’s senior engineers and operation managers in the U.S.  

Prior to launching her media training, crisis communications, and public speaking training business, Carmie McCook was a television reporter and served as Communications Manager for UPS’s world headquarters.  McCook has taught hundreds of executives, company spokespersons, and other high-profile individuals how to confidently handle interviews with virtually every major media outlet.  She has also trained professionals for a broad spectrum of public speaking forums on a vast range of topics.  Carmie McCook has spoken at Yale University, Vermont Business Expo, American Society of Association Executives and the Institute of Politics, Democracy & the Internet.
