The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of the Carolinas recently announced that two Precision Walls, Inc. projects were awarded ABC's Excellence In Construction and Merit Awards; NC Museum of Art in Raleigh,NC and the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, NC.

The NC Museum of Art project included the construction of 14" thick drywall partitions to support the art displays. It also included installation of custom elliptical skylight ceiling coffers designed to diffuse and filter natural light into the galleries without casting shadows onto the works of art. In addition to skylight coffers and drywall, Precision Walls installed custom drywall reveals, hinged aluminum end panels to conceal electrical receptacles, acoustical ceilings, exterior and interior metal framing, insulation, and plywood.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame facility was built to showcase the evolution, heritage and history of the sport of NASCAR Racing. Included in the overall 200,000 sf museum, is a 40,000 sf "Grand Ball Room" that ties into the existing Charlotte Convention Center. The scope of work consisted of numerous challenging curved radius partitions and intricate light gauge framing details to create the race track replica in the "Hall of Honor". Because of the critical lighting effects of the numerous exhibits and features in the museum, Precision Walls, Inc. preformed a Level 5 finish on all drywall partitions and drywall ceilings throughout all common areas of the facility.

ABC's Awards of Excellence Program has become one of the premier competitions within the construction industry. Precision Walls, Inc. is proud to be part of this tradition and looks forward to building more award-winning projects in the future.
