Powered by Google, the Pastor Background Checker is a collection of previously indexed data relevant to the Pastor entered into the search tool. A spokesperson for the Preacher Bureau of Investigation says that they are excited about the new resource because it provides one more tool in the effort to restore accountability and integrity.

“Unlike other professions, there are no regulations or standards when it comes to being a member of the clergy. Sure the Bible clearly defines how a Pastor or Preacher should conduct themselves, but with all of the recent scandals involving church leadership, it’s time to introduce them to standards. With all of the stories of sex abuse at the hands of a Pastor or Priest, congregations really need to know as much as possible about the person standing in their pulpit.”

The Pastor Background Checker only requires that a visitor enter the name of the Pastor and the search tool will pull results relevant to the entered keyword. Since the announcement of the background tool, traffic to the site has hit another record high. The site owner says that the background tool is averaging about 420 queries per hour, which far exceeded their expectations.

Pimp Preacher.com is a website dedicated to protecting church members and congregations from abuse at the hands of Pastors, Preachers, and Priests. Since the site launched in late August it has received rave reviews for its coverage and reporting of stories centered around the evangelical community.
