KBR Opens New Engineering Center in Jakarta, Indonesia
KBR, the engineering and construction subsidiary of Halliburton (NYSE: HAL), officially opened its newest engineering center in Jakarta, Indonesia today. The Jakarta engineering center is part of KBR's Energy and Chemicals Division and will provide competitive engineering services to local, regional and international clients. The Jakarta office is part of KBR's worldwide network of engineering centers and has access to the full complement of technology tools, resources, systems and processes used by KBR offices globally.

KBR has over 30 years of project execution experience in Indonesia in offshore oil and gas, liquefied natural gas ( LNG ) and the petrochemical, fertilizer and refinery industries. Having operated in Indonesia since the 1970s, KBR can continue to leverage the local partnerships and alliances to expand its business and regional presence.
The Jakarta office draws on Indonesia's talented professional workforce and currently has over 60 employees, including engineers, designers and support staff. The local, multi-disciplined engineering team has several years of project experience across the oil and gas, and petrochemical industries.
The Jakarta office is IS0 9001:2000 certified. It is fully equipped with advanced engineering tools such as AutoCAD and fully automated 3D model design. The office is also linked to other KBR centers via high-speed data transfers and a common IT infrastructure. This enables the Jakarta office to collaborate with other KBR offices in the region and globally to deliver real-time engineering services to clients.
KBR's Jakarta office is headed by Pete Wiggin, director, who has over 30 years of industry and project experience. Prior to his current appointment, he served as director of KBR's engineering center in Monterrey, Mexico.
