Mi-Co Goes Vertical at HIMSS--Announces Mi-Forms Home Health Solution for Mobile Data Capture
First Vertical Solution built by Mi-Co using their Mi- Forms Development Platform
(I-Newswire) - Dallas, TX - Mi-Co, the mobile data capture company, announced at the Health Information and Management Systems Society ( HIMSS ) Conference and Exhibition in Dallas that the company is introducing a vertical Solution targeted to home health agencies. The solution, Mi-Forms for Home Health, provides state-of-the-art digital ink capture, handwriting recognition technology and data quality checks geared toward the unique needs of home health and hospice agencies.

• Enhance standard or build new home health e-Forms for capturing data with handwriting input on the Tablet PC, the Digital Pen and other hardware platforms. • Use the built-in data quality checks on the e-form regarding such items as patient signatures for meeting the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ( HIPAA ) compliance regulations and identification of incorrect International Classification of Diseases ( ICD ) Codes. • Send the verified data to backend systems used in the home health arena which can be any system supporting HL7 ( such as Horizon Healthware’s Promise System ).
Key components of the Mi-Forms Home Health Solution include e-forms used in Home Health ( such as Skilled Nursing Visit and OASIS forms ) as well as all requisite training, support and integration modules.
Pricing for the solution will be based on the number of nurses and other personnel that are capturing data. Pricing and general availability will be announced at the Mi-Co User Day on May 10, 2005 in the Research Triangle Park.
