(I-Newswire) - I remember quite clearly when The Beatles left India and Mahareshi in the late sixties. I remember John's bitterness toward the Yogi, and his reason for writing Sexie Sadie. He said the old guy was hitting on Mia Farrow, or was it her sister? OK, so I don't remember clearly, but I remember alright. Mahareshi was fuming with anger and vowed to get even somehow. I'd think if drugs were involved he'd have said that at the time, as they weren't about holding back info that could hurt each other. This, in my mind. lends credit to John Lennon's version of what happened and what I've been led to believe for 30 years.
A little story here: My brother was a big fan of George Harrison and The Beatles. He joined TM ( Trancendental Meditation ) in the late 1960s and was very disappointed. He went into a room and talked a few minutes as they told him this is like getting high, but without drugs. They then charged him $150 ( a lot back then, a lot now too, but a lot more then ). For his payment he recieved a three syllable sound to chant several times a day. I love my brother and felt he was perhaps scammed. So did he, especially after the Beatles/Mahareshi falling out. It occurred to me, and I read later, that you can make up your own three syllable word to chant to yourself. It would have the same effect. Another thing that occurred to me is good people that have a way of genuinely helping people to feel better and attain peace probably wouldn't sell the method. Especially for an arm and leg. So I, with Lennon, chalked it all up to crapola and moved on.
Now so long later, after Lennon and Harrison are conveniently dead, the Mahareshi changes the story. With him, it was always a bout the money. He couldn't dupe Lennon, and he won't dupe me. I don't think the truth is finally coming out. It just doesn't happen that way. When you start accusing dead people you're reaching for straws. If who you are and what you teach are right, and your actions aren't hypocritical of your talk, people will be attracted to you by your merit. To re-hash this old story is a mistake if he's wanting to gather public sympathy or more likely sell a book. It's no more than tabloid chatter. 1968 happened a long time ago, and a man with Spirituality would not revisit such a bitter place. Remember, now a days we keep history written down. The Beatles left on their own, they weren't thrown out. That just didn't happen. When someone in a position to poison the minds of many by rearranging old forgotten facts, someone must come forward and set the record straight.
