Kodak Announces Alliance For Worldwide Regulatory Compliance and Testing Services
Eastman Kodak Company has announced an alliance with TUV Rheinland of North America, Inc. to provide regulatory compliance and testing services to Kodak and other companies worldwide. The alliance will strengthen Kodak’s position to provide faster, more efficient commercialization of equipment products, such as cameras, scanners, medical devices, etc., that are designed and manufactured at Kodak facilities throughout the world.
(I-Newswire) - “As Kodak continues its globalization efforts, and as the company directs its energy into products supporting the digital imaging industry, the need for a comprehensive, consistent approach to worldwide product safety and compliance is significant,” said David Kiser, Director and Vice President, Health, Safety, & Environment. “This alliance will decrease the time to market new products and facilitate the simultaneous launching of products in multiple regions worldwide.”
The alliance has two primary components, both related to highly specialized electrical engineering disciplines: The first involves increasing the utilization of Kodak’s Rochester-based equipment product safety and electromagnetic compatibility ( EMC ) testing laboratories. These laboratories are accredited by several national product safety and EMC certification agencies to perform testing and certification support for such categories of products as information technology, laboratory, and medical equipment.
Through TUV Rheinland’s regional marketing network, such product safety and EMC testing services will be offered to TUV Rheinland’s other customers in the northeast region of the U.S. and Canada.
The other component of the alliance will be to capitalize on TUV Rheinland’s presence worldwide with 8,000 employees in over 40 countries to facilitate product commercialization and compliance with government requirements for Kodak products manufactured worldwide.
