Mega Ice Gears Up for 5’s Hockey Tournament After Successful Launch Last May
While hockey continues to flourish in Asia, Hong Kong has cornered the market after launching its inaugural event Mega Ice 5’s Hockey Tournament last May.
(I-Newswire) - Professional hockey is in full swing in North America and Europe, but over in Asia players are swarming to Hong Kong to get a taste of intense on ice action.
The surge in enthusiasm for the sport has coincided with the launch of one of Asia’s most spectacular ice rinks. Mega Ice rink is Hong Kong’s first venue that’s able to host Olympic qualifying games and international leagues. The facility has further advanced Hong Kong’s position as the host of world tournaments in ice sports.
Last May, Mega Ice held its first international ice hockey tournament, drawing 60 teams from around the world. Powerhouses like Japan, Toronto, Beijing and United Arabs Emirates sent highly competitive teams to compete at the Mega Ice 5’s Hockey Tournament, which was won by the Hong Kong Tigers. This year’s tournament promises to be even better.
