Power Continuity Installs Resilient Uninterruptible Power Supplies for Britannia Building Society

How Power Continuity Systems won the contract for the major power protection systems upgrade to the head office for national operations of the famous UK institution Britannia Building Society.

Derby (I-Newswire) November 3, 2011 - Power Continuity Systems won the contract for the major power protection systems upgrade to the head office national operations of the famous UK institution Britannia Building Society.

PowerContinuity Systems worked with the National building society, founded in 1856, installing a new N+2 resilient uninterruptible power supply system combined with diesel generators, as part of a major overhaul of the head office for national operations in Leek, Staffordshire.

Britannia Building Society stipulated a 100% totally resilient power protection system to be installed whilst their existing operational systems continued live, with the main contractor providing a guarantee that there would be no disruption to their services ,what so ever and completed on time and in budget.
Power Continuity Systems were entrusted as the main contractor with the design, supply, installation and maintenance of the whole Bespoke Power Protection system.

The project for the power protection upgrade required the removal of existing uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and replacement of these aged UPS systems with bespoke designed 1.25 Megawatt UPS systems, including a complete new power distribution system within the head office.

The new system now provides ‘state of the art’ N+2 total resilience, combined with emergency diesel generators, providing back up protection for the financial operations of the Britannia Building Society.

In the event of any National Grid power outage, the day to day operations of the Britannia Building Society will never be disrupted, thanks to PowerContinuity Systems.

Power Continuity Systems protected the operational infrastructure during the removal of the existing Uninterruptable Power Supply System with their own mobile UPS containerised power units. This allowed Britannia Building Society to work without any disruption during the replacement and upgrade of the entire power protection system.

Power Continuity Systems completed the work on time and within the allocated budget.

This major business continuity system which comprised the primary UPS systems, with new diesel generators for backup power protection has been completed by PowerContinuity Systems.

Britannia Building Society now has a state of the art 24/7 power protection system, which is continually monitored and maintained by Power Continuity Systems.

Dean Moss the project manager of Britannia Building Society stated,

‘As a result of their works performed, Britannia Building Society would like to recommend Power Continuity Systems for their professionalism and competence for any resilient power protection UPS and generator system.’
