PODS and KIFM Radio Team Up To Host San Diego Great School Supplies Drive, March 17

As school supplies dwindle, local businesses join forces to help students in need

(CHULA VISTA, Calif.) - School officials know that as the school year progresses, many students often find themselves running low on much needed school supplies. Families with limited financial resources struggle to refill their children's backpacks with the classroom essentials needed to successfully finish the school year.

In an effort to aid the San Diego County Office of Education, PODS is partnering with local radio station, KIFM 98.1, to collect school supplies that will be distributed to needy students.

On Saturday, March 17, the public is invited to help fill a PODS® container with donated school supplies at the first of three separate springtime school supplies drives. Between 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., donations will be accepted at the Chula Vista's Terra Nova Plaza, located at the corner of the 805 freeway south and the east "H" St. exit.

Suggested donations include backpacks, computers, paper, pencils, pens, calculators, crayons and markers. Cash donations and retailer gift cards are also requested. The donations will be delivered to San Diego County School District officials to distribute to students in need.
