Photography Workshop Hosted at Eton Institute Attracts a Multitude of Learners Eager to Develop their Digital Skills

(I-Newswire) August 2, 2010 - Eton Institute, the leading language training centre in the U.A.E, organized a photography workshop, as a special summer feature for their community of learners. Hosted by guest lecturer and expert photographer Paul Aiken, the workshop attracted a multitude of pupils eager to learn tricks and techniques used by professional photographers to take stunning pictures.

Dr. Eli Abi Rached, Director, Eton Institute, commented: "Summer, with that little extra time, is the perfect occasion to finally develop a passionate hobby or even pick up a new skill. We try to bring the best in learning to give our students the opportunity to build and hone their multi-faceted skills. The series of photography workshops with Paul Aiken is another great such experience at Eton Institute."

Students at the special photography workshop conducted on Saturday, 24 July, learnt how to shoot expressive and crisp photographs using tips, tricks and techniques commonly employed by professionals. It explored essential composition techniques such as rule of thirds, depth of field and balance in images that influence the overall quality of a photograph. Students then applied what they learnt with a quick photo shoot using a backdrop setup in the classroom.

Dr. Eli added: "Like all fields, it isn't the tools you own that make you an expert but the skills you possess. The photography workshop was very beneficial and well appreciated by our students as it emphasized that you don't need to own a sophisticated professional camera to take superior pictures. Even a mobile phone in the hands of a good photographer is sufficient!"

The photography level 1 workshop for beginners was the first of a series of three workshops to be conducted at Eton Institute. The second batch of the level 1 workshop will be repeated this Saturday, 31 July, from 9 am to 1 pm, and will be followed by the level 2 workshop on the same day, from 2 pm to 6 pm.
