Patti McKelvey Named McMillin Realty's Top Producer for 2011

Patti McKelvey was named McMillin Realty's top producing agent for 2011, marking the 24th consecutive year she has earned the distinction. For the year 2011, she had 133 listings and 166 sales, totaling $1,592,713.42 in commissions closed.

Patti McKelvey was named McMillin Realty's top producing agent for 2011, marking the 24th consecutive year she has earned the distinction. Mrs. McKelvey eclipsed the $1.4 Billion lifetime sales mark during 2011, tops all time for South County real estate agents. With an eye on a 25th consecutive year, Mrs. McKelvey continues to focus on what she does best: Provide top-notch service to her clients and help them find the right home.

"Although it is flattering to receive this award, it is never my goal. My only focus is to serve my clients to the best of my ability," said Mrs. McKelvey, "I strive every minute of every day to be the best I can be to help my clients. Every minute is valuable, small things lead to great accomplishments." It is this intense commitment and dedication to all of her clients that has given Mrs. McKelvey a sterling reputation as a top Real Estate Agent in San Diego, and an ever-growing Client list.

Mrs. McKelvey credits her long-term success to her ambition. "I put in a lot of hard work and have built a strong work ethic. I arrive daily at a quarter to seven in the morning and don't leave until I finish my work, often after seven at night. If you want to succeed in this business, you have to have that kind of fire inside you."

On top of her personal creed, she credits her sales team - especially her son Jeff - and her support base at McMillin Realty for helping her reach such great heights. "I love McMillin," continues Mrs. McKelvey, "Their principles and their core values mirror my own, as well as their dedication to community involvement. It's nice to know I have such a great organization backing me." She also recognizes the importance of synergy within her sales team, particularly with her assistant Lauren Hurtado, stating that the first impression a client makes is with the initial phone call to her offices.

For the year 2011, she had 133 listings and 166 sales, totaling $1,592,713.42 in commissions closed. So far, 2012 is looking like an even better year. "I am busier at this point now than I was last year," Mrs. McKelvey said, "based on the trends that I am noticing in the listings, I believe that we are at or very close to the bottom of the market." She cites an increase in traditional sales and a decrease in foreclosures and short sales as strong indicators that things are improving. "With a traditional sale, you can close in 30 days with certainty. I think a lot of buyers are turning to a traditional sale for that exact reason-it's guaranteed to happen within a certain timeframe."

Along with a deep passion for serving her clients, Mrs. McKelvey is also an outstanding philanthropist, working with several local charities and organizations, including St. Pius X Catholic Church, Corpus Cristi Catholic Church, the Chula Vista Police Department, the Chula Vista Fire Department, Children's Hospital and Las Primeras. Her main focus with charitable work is to better the lives of those in her community, opting to participate in activities that go directly to the benefactor. Mrs. McKelvey is also working closely with Scott and Susan McMillin on bringing a hospice home to South County, a much-needed facility that will provide hospice care to the South Bay area. "I would like to personally thank Patti for her contributions to McMillin Realty and the McMillin Family, as well as her tireless efforts in bringing a hospice home to South Bay," said Scott McMillin, President of McMillin Realty, "It is an honor and a privilege to work with her."

"Patti is a remarkable entrepreneur, where others see obstacles and challenges, Patti sees opportunity," said Isabel Hall, Vice President of McMillin Realty, "This quality has allowed Patti to point out to her clientele their best alternatives in every market and in every situation. I watch Patti orchestrate successful closings every day. She figures out how to put all the pieces in place for her clients to simply exchange the keys with a smile, and be insulated from the enormous efforts that went into making that sale a simple, positive experience for them. She is an outstanding businesswoman and I would like to personally thank her for her incredible contributions to our company and congratulate her on yet another extraordinarily successful year."
