Pasternack Expands SMP and Mini-SMP Series Adapters

Pasternack Enterprises Introduces New Line of SMP and SMPM Adapters Capable of 65 GHz

Irvine, CA (I-Newswire) February 21, 2013 - Pasternack Enterprises, Inc., a leading ISO 9001:2008 manufacturer and global supplier of RF and microwave products, expands inventory of in-series and between-series SMP and Mini SMP adapters for millimeter wave applications.

Pasternack Enterprises’ SMP and Mini-SMP, also known as SMPM, are coaxial adapters capable of converting multiple connector types including SMP, Mini SMP, SMA, 2.92mm, 2.4mm, 3.5mm and 1.85mm connectors. Frequency ratings for these SMP and SMPM microwave adapters range from 18 GHz to 65 GHz depending on type and style. These new higher frequency SMP and Mini-SMP versions are compatible and fully mate-able with Corning Gilbert GPO™ and GPPO™ connectors.

Pasternack’s new lines of SMP adapters and SMPM adapters utilize passivated stainless steel construction and Beryllium copper (BeCu) designs for the SMP female connectors. These new RF adapters are ideal for use on test systems with SMA, 2.92mm or 2.4mm test ports that must interface with a Mini SMP or SMP equipped Device Under Test (DUT). Other common applications for these SMP and SMPM adapters include millimeter wave systems that require a blind-mate interface for SMA, 2.92mm or 2.4mm connectors and fiber systems requiring broad bandwidth interface to an RF system.

“High density applications require ‘small-footprint’ connectors, which make the SMP and Mini SMP connectors an excellent choice for co-locating many RF connectors,” says Gerry Camacho, VP of Technical Marketing at Pasternack Enterprises, Inc. “SMP and Mini SMP connectors are becoming the connector of choice for broadband fiber optic applications as interfaces for broadband RF systems.”

The new SMP and Mini SMP adapters from Pasternack are available now. You can view all of the various RF coaxial adapters and accompanying specifications on Pasternack’s new website or by visiting http://www.pasternack.com/pages/Featured_Products/mini-smp-adapters-gpo-gppo-precision.htm directly.
