Parrish Construction Group Goes Back to School with Washington County’s Multi-Million Dollar Project in Georgia

New $27 Million High School and Athletic Complex to be Completed 2014

Atlanta, GA (I-Newswire) November 29, 2011 - Washington County Schools have partnered with Parrish Construction Group again, this time for a renovation of the high school and athletic complex. The 16-year-old firm, specializing in constructing academic facilities, also built Washington County a new Elementary School.

Set to begin next month, Parrish Construction plans to renovate, add, modify and demolish select parts of the high school and athletic complex. The football stadium and field, as well as the concourses and concessions are on the list of renovations. The field house will be demolished and rebuilt, completing the 12,000 square-feet renovations to the football stadium. An additional 8,000 square feet of renovations to the upper-level field house, basketball court, a home-seating expansion, offices and other miscellaneous space is also in store for the Washington County students, faculty and families.

“I’m glad we get the opportunity to work with Washington County schools again,” said Dave Cyr, president and founder of Parrish Construction Group. “The elementary school was such a great project, and this new high school and athletic complex will give the students and faculty great facilities for many years to come.”

The gym, kitchen, cafeteria and a section of classrooms will be the only parts of the high school that will be renovated and modified instead of demolished. This 65,000 square-feet space encompasses over half of the 160,000 square feet of the proposed new high school. New parking, drives, curbs and gutters will be added throughout the space. Additional site work and six new tennis courts are on the agenda for Parrish Construction as well.

“I always enjoy working on projects like this,” Cyr said. “It’s easy to forget how rewarding my job is, but we get to make a big difference in the students’ lives. It’s going to be a long process, but once it’s complete, all the students, including the student athletes, are going to benefit so much from the improvements we’re making.”
