Paper Works! A Long Journey Over A Short Distance

Symbolist Artist, Andrew Flint Shipman, will be staging his latest solo show, ‘Paper Works! A Long Journey Over a Short Distance.’

(I-Newswire) November 12, 2009 - Two years ago the artist realised that an impending home move would prove to be a period of upheaval and transience. So, for this period he decided to work on A3 paper, recording the Physical, Mental and Spiritual aspects of the journey. He sold up, house, studio and office and with his family and large dog set out to find somewhere new.

The journey became an odyssey, moving four times, losing every penny they had, fighting to get it back, assault, robbery, eviction and a whole host of other trials. He also had amazing adventures, met fascinating people and realised what truly wonderful & supportive friends and family he had. This odyssey has resulted in forty three new paintings.

The exhibition will be running, 23rd November – 5th December 2009 at The Colomb Art Gallery, London

Also featured at the exhibition will be the ‘Useable & Wearable Art’ of ‘andrewflintdesign.com’ taken from the artist’s paintings. From beautiful English made tablemats & coasters to bags, stationery, t-shirts, aprons, scented candles, jigsaws and glass trivets. For more information visit www.andrewflintdesign.com
