Pacific Rim Mechanical And Aqua Tech Are Bringing Zero Bleed and Zero Blow Down Technology To The Market

Aqua-Tech Water Management has formed a partnership with a Southern California premier HVAC company to bring this exciting technology to the market that will challenge conventional ways of doing things.

Santa Ana, California (I-Newswire) April 11, 2011 - The next big battle in California and the country is going to be over water rights and water usage. Aqua-Tech and Pacific Rim Mechanical have joined forces to bring an exciting technology into the marketplace to aid in conserving millions upon millions of gallons of water per year.

Commercial and Industrial facilities use a tramendous amount of water to cool their facilities. Large facilities use cooling towers in concert with chillers to reject heat and produce the cooling needed. These large cooling towers also need to be maintained with huge amounts of chemical to inhibit algae and corrosion to the metals.

Up until recently, there was just one way to control the water in these towers at healthy levels and that was the conventional blow-down methods coupled with constant feed of chemicals. Most conventionally maintained cooling towers can only recirculate and compound these chemicals and minerals to a certain point; on average 3 to 10 cycles of concentration. Then the tower blows all of the water down the sewer and fills back up and starts the process all over again. This has been acceptable for nearly 100 years.

Chad Jones at Pacific Rim Mechanical in Santa Ana said "The old technology is now being challenged by a new way of doing things. The chemical companies are furious and not going to go easily since they are profiting heavily from the old way of doing things. We are seeing them pull out all the stops in trying to discredit this technology. At the end of the day, this Zero Bleed technology is going to win, if they like it or not. Customers are excited about it and the proof is in the results. Plus it is doing great things for their bottom line and conserving our precious resources at the same time. It is a win win situation."

This new patented technology has been on the market performing in high profile facilities for nearly 7 years now. Recently, due to the years of testing and results put out, it is now being accepted as a very serious option to chemical treatment technology.

This patented technology allows for the cooling towers to go from 3 to 10 cycles of concentration to 100 to 300 cycles of concentration. This alone will save millions of gallons of water per location once installed. Plus there will be no more use for chemicals to control the tower.

To a facility manager or building owner, this seems impossible, but it is not. This technology is likened to water softening technology. You essentially allow for the natural silica to form on the cooling tower media this prevents scale. Then the salt in the water builds up so that there is a dead band and no biological formation can occur.

This technology is now employed by some of the world’s largest refineries, high tech institutions, medical facilities, educational facilities, manufacturing facilities and many more. Where ever there is a large cooling tower, over 500 tons up to 1,000,000 tons this technology will work.

In many cases, due to the large amount of water being saved and no more chemical being used, there is a very rapid payback on the investment. The payback can range from 3 months to 11 months in most scenarios.

The technology is being touted as an amazing conservation technology according to many local and state water districts. Most water districts will offer rebates as well as support the technology. Facilities can even use reclaimed water to operate their cooling towers now this technology.
