Oracle Announces Its Cloud Computing Application

The 35 year old business software developing company, Oracle is all set to launch its own cloud computing application and services for smooth running of its cloud based business.

California (I-Newswire) July 2, 2012 - The 35 year old business software developing company, Oracle Corporation recently announced the release of its own cloud computing application and services to keep up with the small time retailers so as to sell their software online. Social monitoring and data mining services, which are the two guiding factors to boost the sales of Oracle’s software, will now be available on cloud.

According to Larry Ellison, the Chief Executive Officer of Oracle, although the company had given a thought to rebuild all its applications on cloud seven years back, it did not implement into a concrete form as during that period Cloud Computing was yet to come to the fore.

He also admitted that the project was too vast to be carried out single-handedly and hence, there was a need of alliance. But even after pouring so much effort and money by a host of talented Oracle Engineers into the cloud computing project, called as "Fusion" or sometimes "Confusion", the company could not build everything on its own. Hence it spent an amount of nearly 3.5 billion dollars on the acquisition of some early pioneers of Cloud computing like, RightNow Technologies and Taleo Corp. This time, acquisition of a smaller vendor, Salesforce.com Inc will boost up their social media marketing strategy.

With the growing demand for cloud computing in the modern day scenario, all the major software providers like Oracle along with its competitors like, SAP AG, are converting themselves into major cloud computing companies that provide an array of online services. However, presently Oracles provides more than 100 cloud products like platform services, self-service applications, social network services, etc.

Oracle’s platform services includes an assortment of heavy-duty Oracle database like, Developer Services, Mobile Services, Java Services, Web Services, Sites Services, Documents Services and Analytics Services, which can be obtained by paying a nominal fee on monthly basis.
