One Night Only, Hollywood, To Be City of Angels

Over 20 Nonprofit Charities Already Chosen & 3 Honorees Announced For The Launch Of The Somebody's Angel Project

HOLLYWOOD-On July 24th 2010, from 8-10PM in an unprecedented event, nonprofits will come together to celebrate all types of philanthropic heroism as the Somebody's Angel Project is launched.


Including agencies such as the Axis Foundation & Luv for Haiti, the project will raise funds for more than 20 other nonprofit charities. Individuals will also be honored from all sectors in the Inaugural Somebody's Angel Awards. Honorees have been selected based on their dedication to the betterment lives reached through their professional contributions and volunteer activities.

Among the winners already announced are:

Acclaimed writer,producer, and member of the Director's Guild of America Laurie Agard. She is an industry veteran at a very young age having already developed and produced features at CBS, 20th Century Fox, and Universal. Most recently having worked on the family smash Alvin and the Chipmunks, the Squeakquel. Last June, Laurie helped create the DGA's first ever event honoring its female members, co-directing the evening's tribute film. She is a philanthropist and is a board member of Shoes that Fit a nonprofit agency which provides shoes to children in need for school.

Chris Schlauble, co-anchor for NBC4 early morning news show "Today in LA" (5AM - 7AM) and the "Channel 4 News Midday Report" (11AM) will be honored for dedicating much of his spare time to helping needy children find homes. As an adoptee himself, Schlauble shares, "I believe in families, even though I have never met my biological family, and I want to share my desire for a better community."

Comedian Frazer Smith will be honored for his philanthropic work as well as his professional contributions which have impacted the careers of some of the biggest names in stand up comedy. "One of the reasons God put us here is to help other people. I always feel like I could be doing more..."

On the Red Carpet Stuart Haniff of the Karma People will be interviewing some of the biggest stars of the night with Antionette Antone conducting full interviews on the Press Patio. Celebrities, such as three-time Emmy winning actress Sarah Joy Brown, are scheduled to appear to raise awareness for their chosen cause. Corporate sponsors include companies such as Aflac, which became a benefactor due to the project's unique support of nonprofit community as a whole.
