Wind power turbine service technicians require a variety of tools and test equipment to do their job, typically between 15 and 30 stories above ground level. Getting the heavy gear to the turbine service areas safely and efficiently was a problem. OmniCase solution developers conceived and produced a method for hoisting the whopping 167 pound tool kit in a single SKB case.

Limited space on the turbine generator service platform is restrictive, so a tough SKB case was chosen for its perfect "everything fits" size for needed equipment. Customization to address the technician’s needs begins with outfitting the cases with a removable hard tray, layers of protective foam inserts, and lifting rings. Precision machined compartments in the foam inserts keep the equipment in order, and guard against movement and damage in transit. The unique hoisting rings installed on the case exteriors facilitate cabling attachment to hoist the case from ground level to the staging area.
