Radio Show 'Your Life After Trauma' brings attention to Domestic Violence Awareness Month on their October 20th show featuring a detective and a survivor. Michele Rosenthal hopes to spread a message of healing and hope after trauma.

In honor of October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month this week on 'Your Life After Trauma' we will feature survivor Rachael who will share her tips on navigating the path to healing and finding the right kind of support & Detective Tamika Jones of the Palm Beach Sheriffs Office who will share resources and information about Domestic Violence. This week’s guests will be:

Rachael is a student at Rogers State University. She is a survivor of domestic violence and will be sharing how to navigate the healing process as well as how to find the right kind of support.

Tamika Jones is a detective at the Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office and currently is assigned to the Domestic Violence Unit. Detective Jones has over 19 years of law enforcement experience, holds an Associate’s Degree from Palm Beach Community College and has participated in numerous continuing education hours in the areas of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence and Stalking. Detective Jones is an active
member of The Palm Beach County Domestic Violence Council. Tamika Sharanda Jones was born in West Palm Beach Florida. She is married to Emory Payne. She now resides in Wellington Florida and has one son, Victor Jones.


Posttraumatic Stress Disorder is a wholly treatable condition that results from a life-threatening experience in which the trauma survivor felt helpless. PTSD symptoms include insomnia, nightmares, flashbacks, emotional numbing, hyperarousal and hypervigilance.
