Oceanside CA Chamber Reaches Out to Oceanside NY Chamber with Hurricane Sandy Relief

The Oceanside Chamber and the Oceanside business community are reaching out to the Oceanside Chamber in New York. The community of Oceanside NY has recently been devastated by Super Storm Sandy.

Oceanside, CA (I-Newswire) November 9, 2012 - The Oceanside Chamber of Commerce and the Oceanside business community are reaching out to the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce in New York. The community of Oceanside New York has recently been devastated by “Super Storm Sandy.” Over two-thirds of the town is flooded and 90% of the town has limited power; they need help.

The Oceanside CA Chamber has started a three pronged approach to partnering with the Oceanside New York Chamber to provide relief for Sandy victims.

First, the Chamber has begun a facebook campaign to raise awareness and cash donations. For a limited time, for every new “LIKE” the Oceanside Chamber receives for our page at www.Facebook.com/OceansideChamber, the Oceanside Chamber Foundation donate $1 toward the relief efforts.

Second, we are reaching out to our 670 plus members, as well as other businesses that subscribe to our E-newsletter to request their financial assistance in this program. Any and all cash donations will be important to our efforts. Donations can be made to the Oceanside Chamber Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity.

Third, at the Chamber’s November 14th Mixer at Tri-City Medical Center, the Chamber will be donating 100% of its raffle proceeds to this effort.

Any contributions will be sincerely appreciated and would significantly help our neighbors across the country. Funds raised will be used to purchasing gift cards to local home improvement centers and discount stores for distribution through the Oceanside New York Chamber.
