NW Therapy Finder Announces Launch of Innovative Website That Revolutionizes How People Find and Choose a Therapist

Seattle, WA (I-Newswire) November 20, 2011 - NW Therapy Finder LLC, a video directory and interview database of Northwest therapists, announced today that it has launched its new website and service that allows anyone to find and choose a therapist right from their own PC without any charge to them. The new website, located at http://www.nwtherapyfinder.com/, was launched with the participation of over 30 therapists, with more being added every month.

The NW Therapy Finder website was created to solve a critical consumer need that until now was unmet: to help consumers make a fully informed decision on who to meet with for an intimately personal service.

“Finding a therapist has been an incredibly intimidating process – and just the difficulty of choosing a therapist can keep people from getting the help they really want and need,” said Larry Nicholas, co-founder of NW Therapy Finder. “We make it easy by asking the questions that an experienced client would ask, and putting all the answers – and a video interview – online so that clients can screen therapists without the intimidating step of dialing multiple practitioners.”

The website includes detailed profiles for therapists, psychologists, social workers, counselors and coaches; and each profile includes video interviews that give prospective clients a feel of who the practitioner is and how she works with clients.

The new website was launched by co-founders Larry Nicholas, MA, LMHCA, and Adam Knight. The two had worked together on public service video in 2010, but came together over this past summer when they both realized there was a big problem: despite advanced internet technology, clients felt uninformed and unsure of how to choose a therapist. As a practicing therapist, Nicholas had heard the stories first-hand from his clients; while Knight had experience in web video production that he knew could be applied to create a fundamentally more empowering experience for consumers.

The service is completely free to the general public; and it is open to service providers to participate for a low fee that includes all videography and web hosting and distribution of their video interviews.
