NovaSure Video Contest! Participants Can Win $2000 And Help Other Women

Hologic is announcing its"Get Back to Life" patient video contest for NovaSure®. The contest is open to the more than one million women who have chosen NovaSure to stop their periods from controlling their lives.

Hologic, Inc. (Hologic or the Company) (Nasdaq: HOLX) today announced the launch of its "Get Back to Life" patient video contest for NovaSure®, the company's endometrial ablation product for the treatment of heavy menstrual bleeding.

"Every day we hear stories from patients and doctors about how NovaSure changes lives," said Shacey Petrovic, Vice President of Global Marketing, Hologic. "But to reach the 10 million American women suffering with heavy periods, we are creating a national stage where real-life stories encourage women to self-identify so they talk to their physicians about how they can benefit from this highly effective, one-time, five minute solution."

The contest is open to the more than one million women who have chosen NovaSure to stop their periods from controlling their lives. Through the contest, Hologic invites patients who used to suffer from heavy periods to create a compelling video about how they were able to "get back to life" after having the NovaSure procedure. Winning videos will be used to inspire and educate women about heavy periods and the benefits of NovaSure.

The public will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite videos. The first place winner will earn the grand prize of $2000. Additionally, three runners up will each receive $1500 and a series of honorable mentions will each receive $1000.

Submissions will be accepted April 25 - May 29, 2011, and voting will be open to the public June 6 - June 26, 2011.

Further details about eligibility and contest rules can be found at www.NovaSureContest.com

Heavy menstrual bleeding affects 10 million women and often begins when they reach their 30s and 40s. For over ten years, doctors have been treating women who suffer from heavy menstrual bleeding with this safe, simple procedure, but for women who don't know that treatment solutions exist, it can be an embarrassing conversation to initiate.

Since 2001, over one million women have been treated with NovaSure to reduce or eliminate menstrual bleeding, without daily pills, hormones or an invasive hysterectomy. It is a one-time, five-minute procedure that can be done in the doctor's office, usually for the cost of a copay.

Hologic invites women to visit www.NovaSure.com to access real stories from real women and learn more about NovaSure and heavy menstrual bleeding.
