Notes4Cancer Takes Cancer Aid to a Musical Level

Notes4Cancer is a ray of hope for musicians fighting against cancer, supporting financially, emotionally and musically.

Nationally (I-Newswire) February 10, 2013 - Dealing with cancer can be an emotional railroad for patients and their loved ones. It doesn't only involve dealing with emotional stressors but support systems are required for social, spiritual, financial, medical and legal aspects. This is where non profit organizations like Notes4Cancer step in. Dedicated solely to providing support to musicians during difficult times of struggling with cancer, Notes4Cancer is a charity based setup that gives a ray of hope.

At a recent press conference, Elizabeth Smith, the founder of Notes4Cancer, reveals the story behind the establishment. "Scott, our beloved son and a wonderful musician, was suddenly diagnosed with cancer. Although it was pretty heartbreaking at first, as Scott was going through therapy, we realized how much music comforted him. The expensive treatment forced us to get help from charities that claimed to help cancer patients financially but in vain. That's when Notes4Cancer was born"

Notes4Cancer is a support for all musicians with cancer, regardless of their age, gender, type of cancer or the state to which they belong. It helps out musicians financially by covering their gas expenses and travel expenses incurred during trips for doctor appointments. Monthly housing bills are also sorted out for those who cannot afford them due to loss of work because of cancer treatment.

"Notes4Cancer provides more than financial support; we take it to a musical level. Music is therapy and keeps the spirits of musicians high. We provide musical support in the form of guitar strings, music software or other items needed to help them play music. This is why we even accept donations of musical instruments and accessories from those willing to help", adds Elizabeth Smith.
Notes4Cancer supports its cause by holding various fundraising events such as band competitions, silent auctions, concerts and raffles. It also accepts musical donations of musical instruments and accessories for the silent auctions or raffles, as well as non musical donations both online and offline. Funds are even raised by selling t-shirts and other merchandise. The website accepts video material from anyone who supports the noble cause.

In addition, Notes4Cancer supports cancer patients who are not musicians but love music, by providing free music lessons and instruments to play during the course of their therapy.
