We minimized the stitching, and designed the upper as a single shell for absolute lightness and comfort.

The shoes are made with the finest quality materials using groundbreaking technology: thanks to the BIOMAP system, the microfibre upper adapts perfectly to any shape of instep, and improves comfort even for narrower feet.
BioMap by Northwave is the result of a detailed study of the movements of the human body during physical activity that aimed to identify the body’s specific requirements. The soles, uppers and all their components have an anatomical shape that is compatible with every cyclist’s feet and are designed to keep the foot in the right position while pedaling, and transmit power directly to the pedals without wasting any energy.

The brand new component for EXTREME shoes is Ultralight Carbon sole: just 60 g of unbeatable performance. This carbon sole ensures outstanding stiffness with the minimum distance between the foot and pedal. The evolution of AirFlow System features a better ventilation inside the shoe.
The state-of-the-art ultralight arch support is anallergic and antibacterial and features numerous vents to guarantee exceptional ventilation for the foot.

With its unique sole, Extreme is the only shoe that’s compatible with all the top pedals on the market, including SpeedPlay. Thanks to the exclusive “NW Speedplay Adaptor” kit you can now use SpeedPlay pedals in direct contact with the sole which reduces the distance between the foot and pedal, and maximizes performance and the roundness of the pedal stroke without wasting any energy.

EXTREME is available in 2 versions: with 3 straps (new ones, lighter and thinner), or the new version EXTREME TECH with the new SLW closing system developed by Northwave is totally unique that offers ultra-fast, micrometric fastening. This compact mechanism is very light and intuitive, just turn the dial for quick, accurate closure. The side button gradually releases the fastening so you can even enjoy micrometric control when racing. The cable is the result of meticulous research into the best sailing technology available. The unique Embedded Eyeloops that disappear into the upper have been patented directly by Northwave.
