Canadians to vote on their favourite natural health supplements and services during the 2011 Best of Canada Natural Health Awards

Toronto (I-Newswire) September 28, 2011 - Over 70% of Canadians use some form of natural health therapies, including vitamins, minerals, massage therapy, chiropractic, or acupuncture, and for the second year in a row, the Best of Canada Natural Health Awards enables those who do use them to tell other Canadians about their favourite brands and practitioners.

From November 7 to December 4, 2011, by visiting Awards.NaturalHealthcare.ca Canadians from across the country can vote for their favourites - and even leave brief testimonials about their preferred therapists, supplements, and other natural health products. Nominations open October 10, 2011.

This year, in addition to the usual categories (including the health modalities, supplements, magazines, blogs, and training schools), there is a new featured category: My Favourite Find of 2011. This overall category is an opportunity for participants to share the one product or modality they discovered this year that made the biggest difference to their personal health and well-being.

NaturalHealthcare.ca Managing Director Gisela McKay says, "The addition of the 'Favourite Find' category was inspired conversations we regularly have with the public at health shows and events. Everyone seems to have one tidbit to share - something that they've discovered that made a big difference, and here is a forum for doing just that."

To keep the focus on the information sharing rather than simply competing, each nomination automatically creates a profile page, which tracks testimonials as well as the votes. At the end of the voting run, the profiles stay online to create a handy little reference of what people said about the nominated products and practitioners.

Commenting on this year's return to focusing on sharing, Gisela added, "There's no actual 'winner' per se in the 'Favourite Find' category; we're just going to take the ten most-repeated items and build content around them to share with other media outlets."
