NFL Players & The Miami Entertainment Industry Come Together To Raise College Scholarships For At-Risk Youth in South Florida

The Champions Charity Madden Tournament was created to bring the community together in an effort to raise scholarship dollars for at-risk students in South Florida.

With the fast growing success and popularity of the EA Sport's Madden games, Foundation of the World, Tax Me Corp, and Stars of Tomorrow Non-Profit Organizations have teamed up to create the Champions Madden Charity Tournament, an event that is bringing together the natural enjoyment of the game in a safe, controlled, competitive environment while raising scholarship dollars for at-risk students in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. This event, taking place on Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 12PM - 7PM at Sun Life Stadium located at 347 Don Shula Drive in Miami Gardens is more than just your average Madden tournament.

This free community event is open to the public and will feature free health screenings, HIV testing, a blood drive, bounce houses, games, face painting, LIVE music by Wildman Teddy T, DJ Seizure, DJ Monumental (from BETs 106&Park and Rip The Runway), DJ Miami, and DJ Lucky C, performances and appearances from recording artists IceBerg, Alyric, Desloc Piccalo, Da Prince, and others, celebrity guest appearances including Miami Dolphins players Brian Hartline, Lamar Miller, Richard Marshall, Olivier Vernon, and Chris Clemons , along with NFL Alumnae Max Jean-Gilles and Antoine Henderson, a special visit from the Mayor of Miami Gardens, Mayor Oliver G Gilbert III, food vendors, free popcorn and cotton candy, giveaways, and other fun activities, including a Kid Zone that will allow children 11 and under to compete in the Madden Tournament for FREE.

The tournament's registration fee is FREE for Children 11 & under, $5 for children 12-17, and $10 for all adults 18 and older.

"With this being the first time all three of the organizations have come together and joined forces for one common goal, I am excited to see the outcome and exactly how many children will benefit from this event. All of our organizations are similar in many ways, but vastly different in others. The one thing that we seem to agree on with no doubt, is the importance of educating our youth and stopping the poverty cycle by introducing them to options outside of their daily surroundings," says Farrel Liger, CEO to Foundation Of The World Organization.

Tournament prizes include gaming consoles, visa gift cards in the amount of $500, $100, and $50, and Madden 2013 video games.
