Texas Rangers RP Alexi Ogando became the third pitcher since 1900 to record a win in his first three appearances in relief.

(I-Newswire) June 29, 2010 - Hawthorne, NJ – June 29, 2010 – Texas Ranger Right Handed Pitcher Alexi Ogando made history in just three appearances. The Akadema endorser made his Major League debut on June 15th and proceeded to win his first three decisions coming on in relief, a feat that has only been matched two times since 1900. The Oakland Athletics originally signed the 26-year old Ogando as an outfielder in 2002. In 2005, he was acquired by the Texas Rangers through the Rule 5 draft in December of 2005 and immediately moved to pitcher. The Dominican native from San Pedro de Macoris entered his first Major League game on June 15th at the Florida Marlins and pitched 1 scoreless inning to secure the win. His second appearance was two days later at the Marlins where he recorded his second win in 2 1/3 innings of scoreless pitching. Ogando’s third appearance came against the Pittsburgh Pirates on June 23rd where he registered 3 scoreless innings en route to his third career win in only his third career appearance.
