At Body Mechanics NYC, therapists are hired for their expertise in their specific field- Ruby brings her expertise in pre-natal massage to the clinic.
Ruby was born and raised in Brooklyn NY. Her initial interest in the human body began in a figure drawing class in art school as she took notice to the body's form and movements. In her first career, Ruby worked with the human body through costume design, but soon felt a yearning toward something else.
After attending school at the Swedish Institute, Ruby is now a NY state licensed massage therapists. She is also certified in pre and peri-natal massage, medical massage, and CPR. Ruby uses the elements of Swedish Massage, deep tissue massage along with focused stretching to encourage the body to heal and realign itself. Ruby is passionate about orthopedic massage because it gives her the ability to discover the source of pain for her clients in a more comprehensive way. In orthopedic, Ruby explains that shifting the focus '…away from simply relaxation and bringing it to therapeutic relief gives me better results and eases my clients pain faster."
Outside of massage, Ruby's hobbies lie in cooking, sewing, herbal medicine, hiking and camping.
