Online, December 27, 2012 (Newswire.com) - US health care facilities are of much concern to the president. That's why he has come up with a new law of insurance to uninsured people. This will obviously be beneficial to the uninsured people in the country but a major group might suffer.
According to the news, more than 30 million people who yet don't have health insurance coverage will get the same within 6-7 upcoming years. This will lead to a serious overflow of insured people at hospitals who will not be paying compensation for their treatment.
At one glance it is very good plan for the citizens but at large view, trouble can be smelled for the uninsured poor people especially illegal immigrants who can't have shelter under insurance law.
There will be an increasing number of people who will not pay in hospitals after getting insurance coverage. The hospitals will have to avail services to them irrespective of their emergency.
From where will they earn money
The community hospitals and clinics are under the government rule of providing free services to the patients who come to them. But in serious conditions also, they can't deny the insured people while they will attend the uninsured at free cost only if it is emergency.
The poor people who illegally immigrated in US depend on these community hospitals. They will not get the facility of insurance coverage in US. If the number of insured patients increases, the facility provided to these people will cut down. Hospitals are not in a situation to attend more patients and with no revenue; they will not be able to attend poor people.
However, as the law prevails in the country, all US community hospitals and clinics have to attend the patients in emergency irrespective of their payment capacity. Community clinics are new steps taken for providing health care to immigrants where the treatment is better and faster. Emergency rooms are for those who are seriously injured and the conditions are not so good. But as the insured people would increase, immigrants might have to be back to emergency rooms.
The statistics say that the number of uninsured consists of two groups. First group is of immigrants and another is of those who couldn't insure themselves for some other reasons. If these people get insured, only the immigrants will be left. And they will have to wait for their turn.
The federal is investing lots of money to these hospitals. It is proposed that they will spend more to curb such kind of situation and help them at least for emergency situations. A good amount of money is already being contributed by the federal every year.
States with high population of illegal immigrants are spending a lot after their health care. In worst circumstances, they will have to curb the facilities or handle only those cases which are seriously called emergency cases. All other uninsured people will be sent back.
