(I-Newswire) February 22, 2010 - With an upturn in the housing market forecast and following a year in which its products have won accolades for quality and sustainability, Stewart Milne Homes has appointed a new Managing Director for its growing North West England division.

Ian Wilkins, who has just taken the helm at the company’s business based in Manchester, will be spearheading growth and acquisition across England as a whole.

A successful and well respected company that was started in 1975 in Aberdeen by Stewart Milne himself, the business is now one of the UK’s leading independent housebuilders and is already forging ahead in establishing sites across the English market. Ian Wilkins is ideally qualified to direct the business as he has joined after 17 years with Redrow Homes. While at Redrow, Ian launched a new division that grew from start-up to 500 units a year within 5 years and was latterly MD of the North West England division of the business. He brings considerable expertise in the market and will be responsible for reinforcing the Stewart Milne brand in England.
