Florida (I-Newswire) October 16, 2011 - Nadia Janice Brown (born December 17, 1973 in Queens, New York) is an American poet, writer, and author. Nadia was raised and currently resides in Miami, Florida. Born to Jamaican immigrants, Nadia grew up with five siblings including National Football League player, Kareem Brown. Her latest book, Becoming: The Life & Musings of a Girl Poet has just been released through Lulu. According to her website, Becoming is a short collection of inspirational poems and articles about living a life of fulfillment. The author draws upon her own experiences, inspirations, and what she feels most passionate about. The poetry in this book is written about various topics; however, its main theme is about utilizing your God-given talents and gifts in such a way that leads to a fulfilling life. It is the follow-up to her to her award-winning poetry book collection, which was published through Publish America. Brown never studied writing and learned to first write poetry from reading Psalms from the Bible. She is best known for her profound and riveting poetry collection entitled, Unscrambled Eggs, which was inspired by bestselling author Joel Osteen, the pastor of the Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. Unscrambled Eggs was written over a five year period and is an honest and thought-provoking book that deals with everyday life issues. It is a stirring compilation of poems about living your dream and finding one's purpose. Ms Brown hopes readers will respond positively to her new book as they have to Unscrambled Eggs.
