National Heart Winning Cricket League - Literally
Highlights • Nation's first women cricket league for awareness on heart disease • Theme: If now even stents can dissolve why can't smoking, obesity and stress
New Delhi (I-Newswire) October 15, 2013 - For the first time in India to raise awareness on prevention of heart disease, Twenty 20 women cricket matches will be taking place in 8 different cities across India.
This cricket based awareness campaign will be on Indian Premiere League format and is called National awareness league. The places are Mumbai, Pune , Bangalore, Jaipur , Punjab , Kolkata , Chennai & Hyderabad and the matches will be held on the occasion of health observance days on Non Communicable Disease.
"And it is unique for inspiring people to start thinking like the researchers behind dissolving heart stents in order to keep their heart system function as natural as possible" said the organisers.
. The organizing NGO, Svaraksh & Silver Lining Foundation say that "The matches will be ditto on Indian Premiere League format but without any commercials. Taking into account popularity of Cricket among Indians, it is just a right platform where people can indulge and hence can be positively influenced.
Supporting the league, Director Interventional cardiology - Medanta Hospital, Dr Rajneesh Kapoor shares latest developments in heart disease prevention and management and tells that "If the arteries keep functioning unobstructed, heart attack can be prevented. And the most powerful tool for it is regular exercise."
He added that "we should all understand that even dissolving stents, which is the latest discovery in heart attack treatment, are designed to keep heart system as natural as possible. Once the blocked artery is healed, the stent slowly vaporizes leaving the artery without any leftovers, hence allowing its functioning without any interruption. This is like a dream come true in heart disease management.
He further added that much more important is to prevent heart disease setting in and that can be easily achieved if we all adopt a heart friendly lifestyle
The league is supported by Indian celebrity singer Neha Kakkar , the voice behind hit numbers from movie cocktail and Phata poster Nikla hero.
